Cellist Vardan Gasparyan was born in 1989 in Yerevan, Armenia. In 1996 he entered the Tchaikovsky Music School and graduated it with honors. During the years of study he regularly appeared in concerts in Yerevan. In 2003 and 2004 he took part in the Emin Khachatryan National Competition, and received the diploma of the Laureate. In 2006, he was awarded as the best performer of the cello concertos by the decision of the Yerevan Music Schools. In 2006 he made his debut with the Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra, performing the Cello Concerto by Camille Saint-Saëns. In the same year, Vardan entered Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory, studying with Assistant Professor Aram Talalyan, renowned cellist, conductor, and member of the Komitas State Quartet. In 2006 and 2007, Vardan concertized extensively throughout Armenia, and made appearances at several music festivals. In 2008, he had concert tours in USA and Canada. Currently, Vardan is studying with Ronald Leonard at the Colburn School Conservatory of Music.
