Juliana Gondek has enjoyed a far-reaching professional career as one of the busiest solo artists of her generation, performing in collaboration with such legendary musicians as Aaron Copland, Herbert von Karajan, Leonard Bernstein, Carlos Kleiber, James Levine, and Yehudi Menuhin.

Hailed internationally as a leading interpreter of Baroque, Mozart, Italian bel canto, and contemporary music, she has sung at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Kennedy Center, Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw, the Metropolitan Opera, La Scala Opera, Netherlands Opera, Scottish Opera, Teatro La Fenice, San Francisco Opera, New York City Opera, Houston Grand Opera, Seattle Opera, Dallas Opera, Miami Opera, and with America’s top regional opera houses. Engagements at the Salzburg and Edinburgh Festivals, the Göttingen and Halle Handel Festivals, Japans' Pacific Music Festival, Antibe’s Bel Canto Festival, Lincoln Center's Mostly Mozart Festival, and the Avignon, Aldeburgh, Vianden (Luxembourg), Marlboro, Caramoor, Bard, Newport, Bowdoin, Santa Fe, Astoria, Hawaii, and Winter Park Bach Festivals have made her an audience favorite worldwide.

Ms. Gondek has been a frequent soloist with the world’s major orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, Los Angeles Philharmonic, L’Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, the famed Netherlands Radio Symphony, and more than 100 top North American, European, and Asian ensembles, in the solo vocal repertoire of Bach, Handel, Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, and Mahler, and especially 20th/21st century masters, such as Berio, Barber, Britten, Bernstein, Crumb, Chihara, Corigliano, Gorecki, Shostakovich, Stravinsky, David Diamond, Stephen Albert, Stewart Wallace, Ricky Ian Gordon, and Bright Sheng, She has recorded two dozen commercial CDs and DVDs, including five international prizewinners, for Deutsche Grammophon, Teldec, Harmonia Mundi, Naxos, Channel Classics, Orion, and others. Her recordings with Nicholas McGegan of Handel’s Ottone, Radamisto, Giustino, and the British Grammy-winning Ariodante have established her primacy among Baroque singers of her generation.

A native of Pasadena, CA and a former professional violinist, Ms. Gondek gained the international spotlight by winning the “Prix Patek Philippe” and back-to-back Gold Medals in the Geneva and Barcelona (“Vinas”) International Singing Competitions. She serves as Professor of Voice and Chair of Music Performance at the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music as well as Head of Faculty at the Hawaii Performing Arts Festival, Artist-in-Residence at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and the Shanghai Conservatory, and master teacher at conservatories and universities worldwide.
